POETRY; Take Yourself Away

"Take Yourself Away"

Lie yourself down to sleep,
Lay your fears to rest,
Dry those tears without any pain,
Sing your song without the rain,
Make love be just enough,
Wake up to all that is tough,
Teach yourself to trust another,

Save yourself from you,
Take yourself away from this abuse.

Lie to your heart again,
Lay all your love at ones feet,
Dry out the heart, I cannot weep.
Sing the songs that never end,
Make yourself feel again and again,
Wake up from this endless mess,
Teach yourself about life and all that is spent,

Save you from these opens wounds,
Take yourself away from all this abuse.

Lie to the soul when the heart is so true,
Lay yourself out to pain after pain,
Dry all these fears without restrain,
Sing about such heart ache and all you once knew,
Make up a new song with all that is new,
Wake up from this delirium with all that is untrue,
Teach yourself to wake up and renew,

Save you from all that is abundantly false,
Take yourself away from all of this abuse.
